The International Poetry Festival of Guayaquil Ileana Espinel Cedeño was born to bring together leading poets of the world in Guayaquil and to remember the literary heritage of the great Guayaquil poet Ileana Espinel Cedeño. This year 2015, we got to the eighth edition of a festival that continues growing and that takes possession as one of the most important festivals in Latin America. It is the oldest, largest, with more public and participants. This year we invited almost 90 poets from 17 countries including France, Spain, Mongolia, Syria, Uruguay, India, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, United States, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, Ecuador.
This year will participate important poets like Juan Manuel Roca, Rafael Courtoisie, Ralph Nazareth, Rubén Medina, Mercedes Roffé, Fernando Rendón, Tergel Khulganai, among other prominent international and Ecuadorian poets. Our special guests are the Chilean writer Jorge Edwards, 1999 Cervantes Award and the Spanish editor Manuel Borras pretexts of Spain.
